Rooted is a weekly nature-based enrichment experience inspired by Montessori principles for children ages 5–10.Through hands-on projects, outdoor exploration, practical life skills, creative expression, somatic movement and meaningful work, children build confidence, independence and connection in a small, mixed-age community.

What We're Exploring This Week:

🧘 Tai Chi & Mindful Movement
A peaceful start with movement, breathing, and focus.

🥾 De Anza Trail Ecosystem Hike
Explore the trail while observing native plants, wildlife, and collecting natural specimens.

🔬 Microscopic Exploration
Take a closer look at the tiny details hidden in leaves, seeds, feathers, rocks, and other natural treasures.

🎨 Tiny Prints
Create nature-inspired art using leaves, textures, and found specimens.

📖 Story Time
Bobok Brings the Rain: A Yaqui Folktale by Deni J. Seymour Fuller

🌿 Outdoor Play
Child-led exploration, games, and time to simply be kids.

Children should bring:

  • Packed snack, lunch & full water bottle

  • Sun protection

  • Sturdy outdoor clothing

  • Curiosity and a willingness to explore

Every Friday brings a new adventure, new discoveries, and a place for every child in the Curious Coyote community.

As a nonprofit, Mesquite Bosque Academy is committed to making high-quality, nature-based learning accessible to families throughout the Santa Cruz River Valley. Participation is offered through a suggested contribution that supports educators, materials, scholarships and future programming.
