Rooted is a weekly nature-based enrichment experience inspired by Montessori principles for children ages 5–10. Through hands-on projects, outdoor exploration, practical life skills, creative expression, somatic movement and meaningful work, children build confidence, independence and connection in a small, mixed-age community.

What We're Exploring This Week:

🧘 Tai Chi & Mindful Movement
A peaceful start with movement, breathing, and focus.

🌞 Sonoran Desert Heat & Monsoons
Discover how our desert changes through the seasons and why monsoons matter.

🔬 Weather Science
Hands-on experiments exploring clouds, wind, rain, and evaporation.

💃 Rain Dance
Celebrate the monsoon season through movement, music, and joyful play.

📖 Story Time
Rain poems and stories inspired by desert storms.

🌵 Special Guest: Tubac Nature Center
Learn from local naturalists through interactive activities and discoveries about our desert home.

Children should bring:

  • Packed snack, lunch & full water bottle

  • Sun protection

  • Sturdy outdoor clothing

  • Curiosity and a willingness to explore

Every Friday brings a new adventure, new discoveries, and a place for every child in the Curious Coyote community.

As a nonprofit, Mesquite Bosque Academy is committed to making high-quality, nature-based learning accessible to families throughout the Santa Cruz River Valley. Participation is offered through a suggested contribution that supports educators, materials, scholarships and future programming.
