It takes a village and we’re building ours with intention.

Mesquite Bosque Academy is rooted in community, curiosity, and connection. Whether you love working with children, prefer to support behind the scenes, or have a skill you’re excited to share, there’s a place for you here.

Ways to Get Involved

Behind the Scenes Support

Help us prepare materials, organize supplies, set up, or reset after class. These quiet contributions make the magic possible.

Classroom Support

Join us during sessions to assist with activities, guide small groups, and help create a safe, engaging environment for our Seedlings.

Share Your Craft or Expertise

Do you have a passion, trade, or skill you’d love to pass on?
From gardening and art to storytelling, animals, or hands-on life skills, we welcome guest collaborators to co-create a session alongside our program lead.

We keep things small, thoughtful, and child-centered. Volunteers are an extension of that care, helping us foster a space where children feel safe, seen, and inspired to explore.

Our Approach

Requirements

Creating a space where children feel safe to explore, be messy, and fully be themselves is at the heart of what we do. To support that, all volunteers working with students must have fingerprint clearance. CPR certification is encouraged (but not required), and we ask that all volunteers move with care, follow program guidelines, and help us hold this space with intention.

Curious to Join?

If you feel called to be part of this growing community, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out at the bottom of this page to learn more about current opportunities and next steps to volunteer.

OUR VOLUNTEERS

Meet Tasha

Hello, my name is Natasha “Tasha” Rochelle Davies. I am a freshman at Rio Rico High School and an AP Honor student with a strong passion for learning and creativity. I was selected to represent my school at a forum focused on science and medicine, an opportunity that reflects my interest in STEM and academic exploration. Alongside my academic pursuits, I am an avid artist. My artwork was chosen for the HighArts exhibition, and I was honored to be invited to join the Nogales mural team.

At school, I stay actively involved in the Chess Club, Art Club, and STEM Club, where I enjoy collaborating with others who share my interests. In the summertime, I enjoy a bit of acting and making props and costumes at the Tubac Center of the Arts theater camp.

I am grateful to Mesquite Bosque Academy for the opportunity to volunteer, as it allowed me to support students’ growth while gaining meaningful experience and appreciation for the impact of education and community service.

Meet Renée

In her personal life, Renée is restoring Kachina Hill, a 2,000 sq. ft. burnt adobe desert home in Amado, Arizona, alongside her husband, Aaron, and their daughter, Francis Beirne. Meet Maribel

Maribel Lopez was born and raised in Santa Cruz County, where growing up in a border community fostered a deep appreciation for cultural diversity, connection, and place. After spending time living in New York and Los Angeles, she returned home to raise her children, Max and Lola, so they could experience the same strong community and sense of belonging that shaped her upbringing. She is proud to support Mesquite Bosque Academy’s mission of nurturing curious minds and deep community roots.
