Mesquite Bosque Academy Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status. Our mission is to cultivate curiosity, creativity, and connection through hands-on, nature-based enrichment experiences that support the academic, social, emotional, and developmental growth of children. Rooted in the rhythms of the Sonoran Desert, we gather weekly in small cohorts to explore gardening, art, movement, practical life skills, and community-building, guided by Montessori-inspired principles and a belief that children thrive when learning is grounded in nature and supported by one another.

The Hive
Young Entrepreneurs Club
A hands-on entrepreneurship club for young makers, thinkers, and future business owners. The Hive gives kids ages 7–13 the chance to turn an idea into a real little business. Over six Saturday sessions, students will create products, develop a business name and brand, explore pricing, marketing, money, and sustainable business practices and bring it all together at a student-run holiday pop-up shop during our Posada Gatherings event.
The Six-Week Journey
Week 1 — Think Like an Entrepreneur
Discover what makes an entrepreneur and dream up product ideas.Week 2 — From Idea to Product
Choose, prototype, test, and improve a product.Week 3— Build the Mini Business
Create a business name, identify customers, and develop a simple business plan.Week 4 — Brand, Logo & Pricing
Build a memorable brand and explore pricing, profit, and break-even.Week 5 — Marketing & Preparing to Sell
Create customer messages, packaging, signage, and a plan for the pop-up shop.Week 6 — The Holiday Pop-Up Shop
Put it all into action! Students welcome customers, sell their products, handle money, and celebrate what they created together.

Join the Curious Coyote Community
A new guide, a new season, and a whole lot of exploring. We’re thrilled to welcome Amy Maddox to Mesquite Bosque Academy as our Youth Enrichment Lead. With 11 years of Montessori teaching experience and a deep love for children, creativity, and the Southern Arizona landscape, Amy is bringing her experience and curiosity to Rooted.
Every Friday, children get to trade screens for sunshine, busywork for meaningful work, and the classroom for the living world around them. Come explore, create, move, wonder, and get a little dirt under your fingernails.
Rooted is a weekly, Montessori-inspired, nature-based enrichment program for children ages 5–10. Through hands-on projects, outdoor exploration, practical life skills, creative expression, somatic movement, and meaningful work, children build confidence, independence, and a deeper connection to the natural world in a small mixed-age community.
Every Friday is a complete experience, inviting children to explore, create, observe, move, and wonder without screens, busywork, or one-size-fits-all activities. Families are welcome to join us for a single Friday or the full session, and every child has a place in the Curious Coyote community.
This fall, our seasonal theme is Learning Where You Live, using the Santa Cruz River Valley as our classroom. From the mesquite bosque and Sonoran Desert to local history, art, wildlife and community landmarks, children will discover the people and places that make our region unique while developing curiosity, stewardship and a lasting sense of belonging.
Children should bring:
Packed snack, healthy lunch and full water bottle
Sun protection, sturdy outdoor clothing and tennis shoes
Curiosity and a willingness to explore
