All classes will be held at the Tuba Community Center from 9-llam. Dress for creativity! Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get messy with mud and dyes.
In this fun and gloriously messy workshop, kids will discover how art materials come from three natural kingdoms:
Plant Kingdom (leaves, bark, roots, flowers, fruits, vegetables)
Animal Kingdom (wool, hair, dung, feathers, beeswax, eggs)
Mineral Kingdom (clay, rocks, metals)
Kids will explore a unique array of materials and techniques and create three interesting works of art to take home!
Plant Kingdom: Paint with inks made with tea and coffee
Animal Kingdom: Beeswax Resist with Egg Tempera Wash
Mineral Kingdom: Cool Shapes with Pan Pastels
Kids will learn and practice the proper way use and care for paintbrushes and pastel blending tools.
Kids will create a classroom art gallery and enjoy a silent art walk before gathering to share thoughts about their own work, ask for more information, or report discoveries.
Please send your child with a water bottle and a healthy snack to support their energy and focus throughout the program.
